SPIM 2010 - Topics

The workshop aims at improving the exchange of ideas between the different communities involved in the research on personalized information management. The workshop focuses especially on researchers that are working on Web 2.0 and Web 3.0, computational linguistics, machine learning, user modelling, and their combination. The topics of interest include, but are not limited, to the following aspects with respect to the use of ontologies in information systems:

  • Intelligent information retrieval, extraction and filtering
  • Semantic search
  • Content personalization and contextualized presentation
  • Ontologies, folksonomies and information retrieval
  • Semantic recommender and ontology-based user modelling
  • User and user interface modelling with semantic technologies
  • Machine learning for IR and ontology learning
  • Affective computing
  • Personalized interaction in mobile, ubiquitous and context-aware computing
  • Exploiting Linked Data for PIM concerning events, discussion and groups (FOAF, SIOC, etc.)
