"Securing Android-based Devices" is a project initiated by Deutsche Telekom AG. The scope of the project includes identifying the weaknesses in the Android platform and mitigating possible threats induced by its security architecture.
Disregarding this threat may result in high costs for both users and providers. In this project, research results will include appropriate solutions to cope with such threats.
The Android platform represents an interesting opportunity for integrating services of Deutsche Telekom into devices since the platform is open source. Open source software platforms introduce additional threat in that it is easy to analyze for exploitable weaknesses.
