Description of my Dissertation-Idea:

Applications in smart environments have to be adaptable to the current context. Newly introduced devices or even the position of the user can be causes for adaption in such applications. For example the applications user interface could use a larger text size, when the user is far away. Smart environments constitute a large amount of possible changes. In order to deal with this complexity the models@run.time approach has been introduced, that enables the representation and adaption of an application at a high level of abstraction at runtime. This thesis proposes the introduction of a Reconfiguration Model, which is especially tailored to represent possible reconfigurations of the models, used at runtime, on a high level of abstraction and enables the designer to model the joint reconfiguration of several models. The purpose is providing a modelling language that provides means for easy adaption of the application to the current context.
